A semen share in Hiwiroa Jack F41 was purchased after seeing him at Jim Symes and Tymothy Plumbers property in NZ. We were impressed with Jack F41's front, well laid in shoulders, good length of neck with a very sirey head. He is one of the best Jackeroo sons we have seen in this area. He also had a very strong topline with the muscle carrying down hind leg well and stands on good leg structure. |

Yamburgan Ossie D59 (P) |
Y Ossie D59 is a great package of performance and a pedigree to breed on. He is such an efficient doing bull with a very low birth weight and an early maturing growth pattern, heavily muscled but soft with a lot of depth and spring of rib. The Viola family have been one of our best performers in recent years. Viola 8th has produced a sale bull every time, having been joined to seven different sires. A three quarter brother to D59 sold to Weebollabolla last year for $9,000. Viola is still in production at 13 years of age with perfect feet, udder and is still one of the first to calve. |

A lovely fronted bull which comes form his female line, some of our best genetics are coming form this Margaret 17th line. Another bull retained this year, Yamburgan Ossie D96 is from the same line. Churchill's dam, Yamburgan Margaret 24th, is pictured. At 24 months of age Churchill weighed 1040kg, had an EMA of 136 cm/sq, a scrotal size of 41 cm and had fats of 12/8 mm. |

Goldrush was purchased with the Broughton Park cow herd for his fantastic length, structural soundness, weight for age and the type of calves that were on the cows. His calves display the same length and quiet disposition as their sire. He is in the top 10% of the breed for scrotal size, IMF 400 day weight and the SB Carcass Index. A sire that we believe can produce balanced EBV performance and phenotypically good cattle. |

The Grove Lockyer X857 (P) |
Lockyer was purchased in half possession share with The Grove in 2004. He was Grand Champion Shorthorn Bull at the 2005 Brisbane Royal Show. He was sadly lost three years ago. Lockyer is a bull that had a tremendous hind quarter and width through the thurl and pins and passes this onto his progeny. His daughters are calving easily due to this reason and have beautiful udders and plenty of milk. He is a trait leader for EMA with +8.4 which is very evident when you look at his top line. He has bred very consistently, producing cattle that are structurally sound, quiet and with high growth, and this has meshed well with our low birth weight cows. We would like to congratulate the Nero Shorthorn Stud for winning the Grand Champion Bull and second top price at the Dubbo Show & Sale this year with sons of Yamburgan Lockyer 13th. The Grove Lockyer is a trait leader for gestation length, 400 day weight, scrotal size, EMA and IMF. |
