2007 Yamburgan Bull Sale Report

The Yamburgan sale achieved an on-property top price record of $19,000 for lot 5 Yamburgan Lockyer 13th. He was purchased by the Ridley Family from Condobolin for use in the families stud opperations. Lockyer 13th weighed 994kg at 24 months of age with a 133 sq/cm EMA and fat measurements of 17/11. He was from the first line of The Grove Lockyer sons to be offered which averaged $6,810.

The sale was very strong with the second top priced bull selling to AJ Starling, Kingstown, for $12,000. The bull, Yamburgan Lockyer 15th (Lot 7) weighed 952kg at 24 months and had an EMA of 128 sq/cm and a daily weight gain of 1.27.

There were two bulls selling for $10,000 with the first, Yamburgan Lockyer 2nd, going to Peter & Jody Bullen, Baan Baa. He had an EMA of 131 sq/cm, weight of 1022 kg and a daily weight gain of 1.34 at 24 months. The second $10,000 bull sold to Bill Gordon, Condobolin, and was paddock prepared on forage oats and weighed 884 kg, had an EMA of 125 sq/cm at 24 months.

Bulk purchasers were Clyde Ag, buying 8 bulls for 'Oxley Station', Warren, Lynoch Pty Ltd, Armidale, purchaed 6 bulls and the Counsell Family, Barcaldine, took home 6 bulls.

Overall the sale had a 100% clearance with an average of $5,656 and 86% of bulls were sold to repeat clients. We would like to thank all buyers, bidders, agents and friends for a successful sale.
