2004 Bull Sale Report

Records went out the window at this years on property bull sale, with a new top price and overall sale average setting new marks.

In a total clearance, 58 bulls were offered and sold to a top of $17,000 and averaging $5,284.

Mr Bob Adam, advisor to the Simpson Family, "Woodcone", Mt Compass, SA, successfully bid $17,000 for lot 7, Yamburgan Dazzler 14th (pictured below). An ET son of Marellan Super Dazzler x Yamburgan Mayflower 187th. Dazzler 14th weighed 946 kg at 24 months with an EMA scan of 124 sq cm.

Volume buyer was the Coventry family, Lynoch Pty Ltd, Armidale, NSW, with the purchase of six bulls at an average of $6,333 after paying to a top of $7,000 for a very muscular son of the Canadian sire Eionmor Port o' Call.

John Kempton, "The Meadows", Glen Innes, NSW, also purchased a very soft roan Port o' Call son for $7,000.

From Uralla, NSW, Jack Mitchell purchased bulls at $6,500 while the Graham family, "Merrifield" paid $5,500 for a 2 year old son of Weebollabolla Thoedore, weighing 932 kg.

Anthony Grills and family, Guyra, NSW, selected bulls at $8,500 and $4,000, while long time Yamburgan supporter, Bob Anderson, "Garrawilla", Mullaley, NSW, paid $7,500 for a very stylish son of Royalla Ziegfeld.

Two of Yamburgans longest clients, Roger McDowell and John Hindle both purchased bulls, with Roger paying $9,000 for a Yamburgan Clyde 4th son and the Hindles with three bulls to average $3,333.
