The Yamburgan Shorthorn Stud is currently one of Australia's largest and most well established studs. Yamburgan has 700 stud and commercial registered females and was established in 1947 by John's grandfather, John Stewart Manchee. The stud is now managed by John & Liz Manchee.
Our Goal has always been to look to the future and not for short term gain. To do this our focus has always been the commercial reality of cattle breeding. Low birth, fertile, naturally fleshed cattle that haven't been pampered, is the only way to continually succeed in the beef industry. The Yamburgan Shorthorn Stud has always been focused on selecting traits that maintain ease of management including low birthweight, good foraging ability and natural thickness.
