Fertility.....

86 Embryos in one ET Program.

We recently did an ET program with 5 donor cows and got a massive 86 eggs. Yamburgan Jill 148th gave a record 40 'A' grade eggs. The program included sires like newly imported Canadian bull CP Grissom, TG Oscar and Y Ossie D59.

Broughton Park

In September 2010 Yamburgan purchased the Broughton Park Stud from Glen and Lindley Trengove. The Broughton Park herd includes 85 cows with calves and 30 joined heifers. The herd was inspected after Liz judged at the Royal Adelaide Show.

In its 44 year history Broughton Park has risen to prominence within the Shorthorn breed enjoying considerable show and sale ring success, and its genetics have influenced many herds throughout Australia. Among its long list of achievements are the current $15,500 record at the Rabobank Naracoorte Shorthorn Show & Sale.

The current $75,000 Australasian record priced Shorthorn bull, Nero Y2K Zee Top was sired by a Broughton Park bred bull and the stud has bred many trait leading and elite indexing sires on Breedplan. In the Led Steer section Broughton Park has won the champion on-hoof and hook double, a feat only occurring on one other occasion in the history of the Royal Adelaide Shows competition.

John and I look forward to the next stage of our breeding operation incorporating the high performance of Broughton Park herd.

About Yamburgan

YAMBURGAN WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1947 AT 'YAMBURGAN' DIRRINBANDI, QLD, WITH THREE GENERATIONS OF STUDMASTERS SINCE. OUR FAMILY HAS BEEN BREEDING CATTLE IN AUSTRALIA SINCE THE EARLY 1800'S.

The Yamburgan Shorthorn Stud is currently one of Australia's largest and most well established studs. Yamburgan has 800 stud and commercial registered females and was established in 1947 by John's grandfather, John Stewart Manchee. The stud is now managed by John & Liz Manchee.

Our Goal has always been to look to the future and not for short term gain. To do this our focus has always been the commercial reality of cattle breeding. Low birth, fertile, naturally fleshed cattle that haven't been pampered, is the only way to continually succeed in the beef industry.

The Yamburgan Shorthorn Stud has always been focused on selecting traits that maintain ease of management including low birth weight, good foraging ability and natural thickness.
