Pictured - Warenda Sahara (P) pictured at 19 months with an EMA of 130 sq/cm. Photo taken by Kent Ward QCL.

Manchee Agriculture showed 6 Santa bulls and 3 Shorthorn bulls at this years Eidsvold Show. There was a showing of 160 Santa Gertrudis cattle and including the interbreed judging, unhoused section and prime cattle there was a total of 500 head.

Warenda Sahara was Junior Champion bull at 19 months of age, weighed 878 kg and had an EMA of 130 sq/cm. He is sired by Wilgaroon Jester (P) and was placed first ahead of two other Wilgaroon Jester (P) sons from Warenda. The trifecta was assessed by one of Australia's most accomplished judges, Mr Colin Hewett, saying the three bulls were very uniform in type, structurally correct and carry a lot of muscle. The bulls placing 2nd and 3rd respectfully were Warenda Sampsonite (P) and Warenda Sentry (P). The three bulls had an average age of 19 months, an average weight of 877 kg and an average EMA of 124 sq/cm.

We exhibited an under 12 month bull by Yarrawonga Pheonix, Warenda Tomahawk, he placed second.

Warenda Sceptre (P) was placed 4th in a very strong class. Mr Hewett was impressed with his correctness and length. Warenda Sherlock (P) won his 20-22 months class weighing a massive 1018 kg at 22 months of age with an EMA of 132 sq/cm.

Worlds first 8 STAR Santa Gertrudis Bull

Leading up to the 2005 Bull Sale we decided to test a select number of our sale bulls as requested by a client. This testing identified an 8 star GeneSTAR bull, the worlds first Santa Gertrudis bull and one of only a few from all breeds. He was tested prior to the release of the T3, T4 and M3 markers.

Warenda Q54 is by Warenda Mexico (P) and out of Warenda L71, a Murrumbo Beaumon daughter. Meat tenderness and eating quality is an area we are continually concentrating on. Q54 is pictured at 21 months in preparation for sale on forage oats.
