About Wallah Stock Horse Stud

Wallah ASH Stud was established by John and Liz Manchee in 1999 primarily to breed working horses for the cattle properties. We also intend to breed good all round horses for our children, Nick and Sophia.

We take pride in breeding quality Australian Stock Horses with approximately 20 years of breeding experience. We have been producing superior Stock Horses for 10 years and these horses are used solely on the properties for cattle work.

The stud name 'Wallah' is the name of our property and is situated 25 km south east of Narrabri on the Namoi river in the foothills of the Nandewar ranges.

The Wallah prefix was first registered with the Australian Stock Horse Society in approximately 1969 by John's father, Lionel Manchee. The stud name was renewed by Liz in 1999. The foundation stallion and mares breeding can still be found in some of the station horses genetics to this day.

The horses are all foal imprinted when they are first born and we believe this makes a lot of difference to their attitude when they are broken in. They are taught to lead as weanlings/yearlings and are broken in at approximately two years.
